How to refill a leather journal?
Refilling your journal is very simple:
- First, open the front cover and remove the endpaper of the insert that is already filled from the cover sleeve.
- Then, pull the entire insert out from the back cover sleeve and your refillable journal cover is ready to accept a new refill insert.
- Place the back paper cover of your new refill insert into the back cover sleeve of your journal and, while bending the front cover backward - beyond flat, insert the front endpaper of the refill insert into the front cover sleeve.
- You are all set!
What type of refillable journals are available?

Hardcover, featuring the same leather and craftsmanship of our finest journals in 3 sizes and in 2 leather colors.
Softcovers are available in wrap-style (medieval), with clasp or belt closures, or without in a variety of leather colors and textures.

A4 – Large (21x30cm paper, approx. 8-1/4 x 11-3/4 inches)
A5 – Medium (15 x 21cm paper, approx. 6 x 8-1/4 inches)

Paper types:
Ruled – Lined pages (.7mm between lines, a bit wider than college-ruled but not quite wide-ruled; 90gsm)
Blank – Unlined pages (smooth woven paper; 90gsm)
Dotted - Dot Grid pages (smooth woven paper; 90gsm)

Can I use my fountain pen?
In a word - Yes! The smooth, woven paper found in all Epica refillable journals and notebooks are perfect for all pens and inks, and for pencils of course. You will experience minimal ghosting and bleed-through, even with fountain pens! Now, having said this, there are many ink formulations, from gel to very thin ink.
