All Epica papers are, and have always been, acid-free and of archival quality. Five grades of paper line the pages of Epica Journals:
Handmade Pages from the Amalfi Coast
Pure over-the- top beauty. Sometimes of course, too much is just enough. That is why the more discriminating customer may choose to have their journal amply filled with handmade paper from the Amalfi Coast. It is our most premium paper available, with a texture that feels like fabric to the touch. Amalfi paper is made piece by piece by one of two paper mills remaining on the Amalfi Coast, near Naples. The sides of the pages have a torn look, and there every few pages you will find a watermark. We go further with hand-stitched binding and fresh cream color pages. Amalfi paper makes every turn of the page something to be eagerly anticipated. Available sizes: 5x7, 6x9, 8x10, and 11x15.
Signature hand-cut pages with deckled edges
Hand-cut paper is an Epica exclusive design of rich cream colored stock. It does not carry the lofty price of handmade Amalfi paper but still has that gorgeous uneven deckled edge that so many books used to have. Epica hand-cut pages are made with heavyweight 28lb acid-free archival writing stock and then hand cut to create deckled edges for an old-world look. It is almost like a very thin construction paper, but it is softer, smoother, creamier, and is our personal favorite to write on. Available sizes: 6x8, 8x10, 8x10, 11x15, and the World’s Second Largest 15x22 & World’s Largest 20x28.
Unlined and smooth pages
Our unlined writing journals boast classic laid, lightweight cream colored pages. The laid stock provides tiny horizontal lines to smoothly guide your hand as you write. Available sizes: 5x7, 6x9, 7x10, 8x10 and 9x12.
Lined and smooth pages
Epica’s lined writing journals are made with thin, cream colored pages, suitable for all pen types. With lightweight 22lb, college ruled paper with brown lines, these rich cream colored pages offer a smooth and delicate writing surface. Available sizes: 6x9 and 9x12.
