Every Epica piece begins with Italian craftsmanship. Personalization adds your own touch, transforming a beautifully made item into something uniquely meaningful. A monogram adds a signature to a favorite journal or album. An inscription preserves the words behind a gift. A dedication page offers space to express a heartfelt message. Handcrafted in Italy and personalized by our team in the United States, each piece can be tailored to mark a meaningful occasion, celebrate a special connection, or preserve a story worth remembering.

Monograms & Initials

A Signature Detail

A few letters can make a journal or a photo album unmistakably yours. Add two initials or a three-letter monogram to your leather journal or photo album. Choose lettering of equal size or a traditional arrangement with the surname initial larger in the center.

Select Block, Script, Contemporary, or Traditional lettering, then choose your preferred finish and placement. Letter arrangement: All letters the same size, or the surname initial larger in the center.

  • For two initials, enter one letter in each of the Left and Right fields and leave the Center field blank. For a three-letter monogram, enter one letter in each field, in the order you want the letters to appear.

The Story Begins With You

Before the first handwritten entry or photograph, begin with a message of your own. A custom title page gives you room for a personal letter, a poem, a meaningful quotation, or a dedication celebrating the occasion. Thank a mentor, leave a message for newlyweds, or share a few words with someone who will fill these pages for years to come. Your message is professionally typeset, printed, and mounted inside your piece. In journals, it is mounted on the flyleaf or first page, depending on the journal’s construction. In photo albums, it is mounted on the first mounting page.

Your Personalization Choices

  • Fonts: Block, Script, or Calligraphy.
  • Ink colors: Black or Gold.
  • Borders: Black Matte, Antique Gold Shimmer, Bronze Shimmer, or Plum Shimmer.
  • Decorative flourishes: At the top and bottom, at the top only, at the bottom only, or without flourishes.

    Enter your message in the Inscription field and share any additional preferences in “Notes to Epica.” We’ll arrange your words in a balanced layout with an appropriate font size.

Personalized embossing lets you add a title, names, dates, or a meaningful inscription in up to three lines. Name a travel journal, celebrate a wedding, or recognize years of dedication with words chosen for the person and the occasion.

Each line has its own font, finish, and placement selections. Combine Block and Script lettering, or keep your inscription consistent throughout.

  • Finishes: Blind embossing, metallic foils, colored finishes, or 22K real gold leaf.

Emboss Your Own Logo or Crest

Your Identity, Impressed in Leather

Bring your company logo, family crest, custom monogram, or original line artwork to an Epica journal or album. Custom logo embossing creates a distinctive connection to the people and ideas your book represents. It is a thoughtful choice for company gifts, club and team milestones, family keepsakes, and special occasions.

Your approved artwork is used to create a reusable metal embossing die, which impresses the design into the leather in your chosen finish.

  • Design sizes: Up to 1 × 1, 2 × 2, or 3 × 3 inches.
  • Finishes: Blind embossing, metallic foils, colored finishes, or 22K real gold leaf.
  • Standard placement: On the front cover, centered horizontally and one-third from the top.
  • Alternative placement: Share your preference in “Notes to Epica.”

The 3-inch design size is recommended for covers at least 9 inches wide.

Preparing Your Artwork

Upload a high-resolution PNG with a transparent background. Your artwork should be a black-only line drawing, without shading or photographic imagery. A digital proof and embossing on one cover are included in the custom-logo service. Our team will prepare your proof for approval before creating the embossing die.

Restamp Your Logo

Carry your design across additional pieces or return to it for a future order. Your custom embossing die can be reused for repeat logo embossing. Contact our team to coordinate an existing die, arrange additional books, or discuss a new order using your previous design.

For a precious finishing touch, select “Real Gold Leaf – 22k” from the available embossing finishes on your product page. Additional charges apply.

Personalization is available on many Epica journals and photo albums. Check your selected product’s page for the services, finishes, and placement options available for that piece.
Initials and monograms personalize your journal or photo album with individual letters arranged in your chosen style. An inscription gives you room for names, dates, a title, or a short message in up to three separately selected lines.
Blind embossing creates an impression in the leather without added color. Metallic and colored foils add your selected finish to the impression. The 22K real gold leaf option uses real gold and carries an additional charge.
Where both services are available, you can select cover personalization and a custom title page for the same piece. Use the cover for a name, monogram, or short inscription, and the dedication page for a longer message.
Your dedication is professionally typeset and printed, then mounted inside the piece with your selected border. Its location depends on whether you choose a journal or photo album and the book’s construction.
Yes. Select “Emboss Your Own Logo or Crest” and upload suitable artwork through the product page. Choose your design size and finish, then review the digital proof provided before the embossing die is created.
Your custom title page or dedication inscription is printed on cream cardstock, then mounted onto a separate piece of cardstock in your selected border color. The finished piece is then mounted inside the book. For journals, it is typically mounted on the right-hand flyleaf, while for photo albums, it is typically mounted on the left-hand side. The exact placement may vary depending on how the book is constructed. The title page or dedication is one of the first things you see when you open the book.
Both options use the same brass embossing letters. The main difference is the amount of text each option accommodates. Monogram & Initials is designed for up to three characters, while Personalized Embossing allows for longer text, such as names, dates, titles, or short messages arranged across up to three lines.
Yes, additional lines may be possible depending on the product. While most of our books can accommodate only two to three lines, some may allow for more. Please email us at business@epica.com to confirm, or include your request for additional lines in the “Notes to Epica” section at checkout. We'll review your request and contact you with any additional costs before proceeding.
Our standard embossing letter sets are designed for English lettering, but we may be able to accommodate certain additional characters, such as an acute accent (é) or a trema (ë or ï), using the punctuation and marks available in our existing sets. Other accented characters may not be possible with our standard lettering. If your name or phrase requires characters we don't have available, we may be able to create a custom metal die, similar to our custom Logo & Crest option. Custom dies typically range from $119 to $169, depending on the length and overall size required. You can view the available letters and characters in the example photos for each font style. If you're unsure whether we can accommodate your requested wording, please email us at business@epica.com and we'll be happy to help.
Unfortunately, we cannot personalize the spine. Our books are handmade and bound in Italy, and attempting to emboss the spine after binding would risk crushing or damaging it.
Unfortunately, we don't offer custom printing throughout the pages of our books.
Available leather colors and sizes vary by product. Each product page lists the options available for that item. If a color or size isn't offered in the product options, the product is only available in the color and size described and shown in the product photos.
